Rocky Point Pottery

ColinPledger1

Rocky Point Pottery established 1977 in a rammed earth stable dating back to 1869
and a relic of the mining era at Bendigo.

Helen & Colin Pledger moved here in 1977 from Nelson where Colin had commenced pottery as a hobby. Over the years we have evolved as a retail outlet for giftware as well as an extensive range of pottery produced on site numbering at present about 50 items in 7 colour ranges/styles. .

The pottery workshop is of straw bale construction and is reminiscent of the hotel, which once was sited here (Rocky Point Hotel). This was the first building of its type in Central Otago and was constructed largely by Colin.
