. Ranfurly was originally and is now still the main service centre for the Maniototo, but is becoming increasingly well know for its Art Deco buildings, these were built in the 1930’s, when the town went through a rapid development and many have now been restored to their former glory.
Each February a Rural Art Deco Festival is held, this brings many visitors to the town to enjoy the Jazz Bands, entertainment and jazz themed activities.
The Railway Station has been turned into a Display Centre showcasing the history of the town and this is well worth a visit.
Also the Otago Central Rail Trail has brough new life to the town, as many will stop off during the cycling or walking of the rail trail.
