set in a superb secluded location just north of Alexandra.

Come and relax in this secluded Central Otago homestay with panoramic views.
 Duart Homestay, will soothe and cosset you be it on verandahs,
in our extensive stone terraced garden, or in winter, by the sitting room fire.
Your complete privacy is assured, but we enjoy company and conversation, if that is your wish.

 There are superb views from our secluded home, 5 minutes from Alexandra.
Enjoy the vistas.

East: The sun rises over the rocky outcrops and hills above the Manuherikia river, magic on a misty morning.
West: It sets over the Remarkable Mountains, near Queenstown. 
South: The lights of Alexandra compete with the stars (it almost never rains here).
North: We're signposted on Highway 85, en route to Ranfurly, and via the Pigroot to Dunedin.

Walks are available on private land, along the river, the Central OtagoRail Trail
which we look down on and can pick you up from various points along,
or unforgettably, when the thyme blooms over the hills.

There is good fishing in nearby lakes, dams and rivers, kayaking,
mountain biking and a myriad of other sporting activities.
Exploring gold mining ruins, wineries, vineyard tours, orchards,
galleries, restaurants and shops are popular.

 Rohan, of Lord of the Rings (Poolburn) is just over the hills nearby.

Sky TV., laundry facilities, our library, complimentary tea, coffee,
biscuits and fruit are available any time. 

Continental breakfast with homemade preserves, jams,
 muesli and yoghurt is ready when you are.

Dinner @ $25.00 featuring local cuisine and home grown produce, is by arrangement.

To find us, from Alexandra take Highway 85, and after passing the Galloway turn off continue up the hill on 85, until 5 mailboxes and the Duart sign are seen on the righthand side of the road.
Turn at the little lane and find us at its end. Rapid Number 356.
(i.e. 3.56 kms from Alexandra.).
Queenstown and Wanaka are an hour away by car; Dunedin and Invercargill, and the Catlins, two hours.
